Adopt A Family Association - Won't You Adopt A Family Now?

The Family Needs program was established to help provide temporary support for low income and the economically disadvantage families with children.   Our service of basic need assistance has been successful with the help of pubic and private donations, fundraising events and through a network of service agencies that serve our target population groups. These services include emergency food, clothing, furniture, and winter outerwear for the children, educational material, including books and arts and crafts materials, which provide opportunities for the children to improve their academics. 

Items are personally delivered by program volunteers and staff, which allow them the opportunity to connect personally with each family.  This also provides an opportunity to give meaningful encouragement, introduce books and reading into the household, provide linkages and referrals to self sufficiency initiatives in the community, and potentially identify ways that the Family Needs Program can assist them in working toward their personal goals for their families.  By 2009, the Family Needs Program plans to have age appropriate reading for the entire family, follow-up capability to continue to refer the family to specific social service resources when needed, and to encourage and link the family to literacy and training resources available to them.
